Eyebrow Wax in my baby’s hair!!! Please Help!?
I had one of those big Nair wax tubs. Well, my boyfriend heated it up in the microwave for me last night and when I went to pull it out, the tub melted and wax went everywhere! Once it all dried I started to clean up the mess. I or my boyfriend had some wax on our arm and it ended up in our bed. This morning I put our son in bed with us and he ended up getting a piece of wax in his hair. It’s about an inch long and I thought maybe it wasn’t stuck as bad as it was and I tried to pull it. And it’s stuck. If I pull it, it will pull out his hair and hurt him. I tried putting lotion in his hair, vaseline, and a few other things and nothing works. I can’t cut it out. He’s only 7 1/2 months old so his hair isn’t that long. The wax is pretty much on his scalp. Someone please help us!!! How can we get this out without it hurting our son? If I could pull it away from his scalp somehow, I could probably cut it. 10pts to whoever’s answer works for us!
Hmm, that’s a toughie. Hair wax is horrible to remove, I know I just got it on my carpet a few weeks ago and there it still sits because there’s no way to get it out. But you could try some hot towell compresses to soften the wax then baby oil and kind of try to comb it out with a little brush. At least comb it up off his scalp so that you can cut the hair there. Other than that, Mrs Z made a really good point, try taking him to a salon that does professional waxing, or a spa, that way they can give you some tips.
Here are some I found on google, good luck!!
* put ice on the wax. it will harden and crack off.
* when I wax someones brows with hard wax it can sometimes get into the hair. I always use baby oil on my finger and work it into the waxy area and the wax just slips away. Melting the wax off the hair will work to an extent but it does not get all the wax. it also burns the scalp because u have to get the water or heat hot enough to melt the wax which is too hot for the skin. Just try baby oil next time you get wax in your hair.
* Use olive oil and saturate the wax with it. This softens it up, so you can pull the gummy wax out.
* Heat wax with a hairdryer, blotting with paper towels or brown paper bag as it melts. This way you don’t end up with re-dried wax clogging your tub pipes!
