Has anyone had experience with the very exclusive "Church of Christ"?
Through family I have come to know about this group called "The Church of Christ" who do not believe in musical instruments in church because they say that the new evidence not mentioned, females are not allowed to cut hair should also wear skirts at all times and believe that they alone are the true church. They believe they have turned to the Bible (not everyone, like anything else) and have become like the first Church. They also believe in a communion cup (Like Jesus … they say), if you use more than one cup they are worshiping evil. ALL gift spiritual healing, tounges, etc. (1 Cor 13) have expired due to a bad verse quoted … Cor 13:08 first … what is, in part, so no one will hear of this group?
I go to the Church of Christ, and what you are describing is (in my opinion) a sad representation of our beliefs. In our church, women are definitely to cut hair and wearing jeans, pants, or whatever. We take weekly communion, but do not use a cup. The women in my church read Scripture, pray, and help pass communion during Mass, and definitely do not think the "only true church", but trying to be like Jesus and the New Testament worship is our goal. Unfortunately, there are churches of Christ who are like your description, but please do not lump everyone with that lot!
