I need help with my inside cat what can i do?
I have let her get in such a bad shape with her fur. She is long haired and its full of knots .. I tried cutting and brushing her and got lots of hair out but i think she needs professional help. What can i do?
Matted cat fur is almost impossible to detangle because it’s so fine. What you should do is bring her to the closest groomer you can find, such as the one at PetCo, and have her shaved down. You can opt for a “lion cut” where she retains hair on her legs, head and the tip of her tail. Here’s some pictures:

Looks a bit silly, doesn’t it? 
But it’s better than having mats everywhere. You can attempt this yourself if you have some hair clippers, but it’s best to use a professional groomer.
In the future, when the hair does grow back, be sure to groom her daily with a slicker brush and catch any mats before they become too serious. It’s easy to forget, but always try to make a note of it- maybe have a picture printed up of a lion cut, perhaps.
