Questions about hair follicle testing. (Not related to passing a drug test)?
I have a couple questions about hair follicle testing.
1. Is it possible to go all the way back to the root of the hair and accurately tell if someone was exposed to a given toxin years or even decades ago. Does the accuracy and reliability of the test go down as you go farther bad in time?
2. I notice that most of the tests on the market only test for a few very specific things. Either standard recreational drugs or a few specific toxins. Is it possible to test for any possible toxin that could be in the hair? If someone want to have such a test preformed, where would they go?
The hair at the follicle (root) is the newest of the hair – and will only give you data for the last week to month, depending upon how fast the person’s hair grows.
If a person’s hair is VERY long, yes, it is possible to go back years.
It IS possible to test for anything, but cost makes it prohibitive for any but either the most wealthy or law enforcement (and the latter is VERY rare).
