help with accurate photoshop selections?
I have a portrait picture of a person and I’d like to accurately select all aspects of them to seperate them from the background…meaning hair too. lol
I generally just use the background eraser tool and make it as accurate as I can but is there an easier way to do this?? there has to be…I’ve also tried to use the magic selection brushes and the like…
any help or tips would be much appreciated!

If there is plenty of contrast between the background and the subject, you can go into channels, copy the channel with the highest contrast and apply a levels adjustment to it. Push the black and white sliders toward the center. On the right image, this creates a very accurate mask (down to individual hairs) that can be loaded from the canvas as a selection.
