so basically there just like metal or plastci things with holes for a pin to go through, please help! and any website links that sell them would be amazing too!

These are leather barette ponytail holders. The origin is probably from American indian ( ima guessin at that) But the popularity of these things were off the hook back in the 70′s during the flower child-woodstock era. They were a strap of leather usually tooled with a design ( tooled meaning they took a pounding set to pound or enlay a groove or design ) and tooled a hole on oposite sides or ends of the piece then you could use the stick that came with it but I imagine anything would suffice if it fit in the holes! ( Like a pen, pencil, or straw ) I know you didnt want a history lesson here, but thought you might be interrested…:)
As far as nowadays, sheesh, Id make my own! But I think you can find some really pretty ones at the higher end stores ( macys, nordys…especially right now when these things are in demand) But you could of course try claires, styles for less spencers, (hot topicpossibly) or any mall salon that sells accecories. What about Sallys, or if you have a trump card try cosmo prof.
If you can braid, knit,crochet or knot you can totally make your own,and make it to fit your hair size and choice of colors, put beads, blingy beads, stone or shell… and since it is knotted you dont need to wory about the holes, you just need a good chopstick to push through wherever you want!
